RHS Group provides integrated project cargo logistics
services covering the following aspects.
- Advice on the selection of the port / airport
to receive project cargo.
- Coordination with shipping line / airline
for monitoring the arrival of the vessel / aircraft.
- Berthing of the vessel at a suitable berth,
if RHS is also the vessel handling agent.
- Route survey from the terminal to the project
site to determine the precautions to be taken
& to be aware of the statutory limitations
& permissions to be taken.
- Customs documentation.
- Supervision at the time of discharging the
cargo.
- Arrangement of heavy lift cranes, if needed.
- Selection of suitable road hauliers &
ensuring that required number of trailers with
suitable capacity are lined up for road haulage.
- Making arrangements for the transhipment
vessel or barge, if transhipment by sea is involved
( as in the case of project cargo to Assaluyeh
in Iran ) & moving the cargo to transhipment
loading berth.
- Arranging discharge survey & loading
survey (if applicable)
- Coordination with cargo receivers to ensure
that project site is ready to receive the project
cargo.
- Positioning of the project cargo at the site
& assisting the receivers to offload the
cargo at the site.
RHS Group has been involved in some of the prestigious
projects in Dubai viz. movement of steel structurals
used for the construction of Burj Al Arab ( 7
star hotel, the tallest hotel in the world ),
power plant for Emirates Towers, dredging of Palm
islands and recently handling the complete logistics
for the movement of fabricated steelwork for the
Dubai Autodrome.
Dubai Autodrome
project ( Click to see Picture Gallery ) involved
movement of 1157 packages with a total gross weight
of 2,455 MT & volume of 6,599 CBM. Some of
the large trusses needed 80 feet long trailers.
Width of some of the pieces exceeded the normal
width of trailers and such pieces had to be hauled
under police escort at specified times to avoid
disruption to the traffic.
